There are moments of teasing cool gusts of wind, or the chirping of a bird outside your window, that remind you of the beauty that warmth brings into the world (before then remembering the constant and unbearable weight of summer heat).  This playlist is in reverence of the blooming of new things, and with new releases from tons of new artists as well as some career making moments from our old favorites, what better time than now for Spring to harken our musical musings?

The last few days have me feeling spring fever so hard, with the beautiful tease of an evening with the windows open, and the ludicrous outfits of women who took it too far, I couldn’t help but feel that attitude reflected in some of my favorite releases and finds this week.  Enjoy an array of blossoming artists.

All the Trappings of a Perfect Pop Song

When Marina (& The DIamonds) tweeted “…f***king amazing” she intentionally launched global awareness of this rising Swedish Pop star, and caught my attention as well.  Tove Lo’s single Habits was, upon first listen, interesting.  My first impression was to recoil from the painful lyrics about coping with missing someone.  It’s not a pretty picture- frequenting sex clubs, puking in the bathtub, and the basis of the song, staying high all the time.   Continue reading
